About the Artist…
Hi, I am Rebecca Vavic... Mixed Media artist, photographer, scrapper, art journal enthusiast... lover of barefeet and coffee. Passionate about teaching and enjoying wonderful creative connections...
I teach two
nights a week at CIT Solutions, scrapping and mixed media. I love the
enthusiasm and inspiration that teaching brings.
I am
constantly doing a few things at once and often have about 5 or 6 projects
going at any one time. Each fuels the other. The more I have going, the more I
do.
I am
passionate about my art and mixed media; particularly the “Affirmation Art”
which I hope inspires people. I am also really inspired to create gorgeous art
pieces for children's rooms.
My art is bright, cheerful and original. You are sure to find
something you adore from my range.
Testomonial…
Rebecca has always been a creative soul. Captivated by all facets of art and design, she has continually sort out opportunities to explore and grow in broad spectrum of artistic endeavours, through reading, courses, and her own experimentation in various aspects of the artistic world. In her early days she explored clay sculpture, decoupage and dressmaking.
After the birth of her
little girl in 2001 she joined the new (to Australia) scrapbooking world to
creatively document her life and embrace photography as a passion. At the same
time, her new career in Technical Writing saw her learning and using elements
of Graphic design.
As a new chapter in
Rebecca’s life began, with the love and support of her new partner, she began
to view her creative endeavours in a new light and embrace the concept that she
could take her “craft hobbies” and turn them into a career as an artist.
Joining design teams, having her work published, endlessly researching trends and techniques, conducting evening courses in her local community, combined with years of creative experience have led Rebecca to where she is today: a fulltime artist, passionately pursuing her dreams. The result? Beautiful and unique artwork. -JNM-
About the Art…
Most of
Rebecca’s artwork is a paper and acrylic paint collage on wood or canvas. They
have a multitude of layers, creating a rich tapestry of colours and texture.
Techniques may include (and are not limited to): stamping, tissue papers,
patterned papers, fluid inks, translucent paints, and iridescent paints, water
soluble crayons, glitter’s, watercolour paints and pencils. Most pieces are
finished with either an Organic Beeswax or super shiny Resin coating.
Affirmation Art…
I am really excited about this new line of my art...
Positive self-talk, affirmations, mantras... however you refer to them.... have
been a HUGE part of my life < HUGE > and me living my dream life as I am
today. I would not be here without it. Seriously.
I cannot under estimate the power of positive affirmation.
I find it
so great to see these little quotes, phrases and sayings that lift your heart
and spirit, that remind you to believe in yourself and your dreams. A constant
reminder that we are our most precious gift, our very own best friend, that we
are entitled and must be encouraged to DREAM BIG, to strive for our biggest
desires... we in fact are on this earth just for that purpose... to follow our
heart, to listen to that whisper of our soul and to act upon it...
I believe
we are all amazing individuals
and that is why I am creating my little Affirmation Art mini canvases...
To share the positive and affirming love with those who believe
the same. I hope you find one that speaks directly to your heart.
Put this on your desk at work or home, in a special place for you to read numerous times a day… and watch your life and dreams blossom. You deserve it!
