Happy Earth Hour...

My gorgeous hubby set up our living room with lots of candles from our wedding day ... we snuggled.

We did it...

We got three albums complete, packaged and delivered to send to the Memory Gifts Project.

I donated the papers, embellishments and cardstock... my Creative Memories consultant, Angi... very generously donated the albums, pages and page protectors for this little mini project. CM have donated over $50,000 to the bushfire appeal. So kewl!

 

The first one is the one Mikaela's Grade 3 class did... so sweet:

We used Basic Grey's Infuse pack for this album. 

I created the second album with some help from my gal pal Manon {thanks so much Manon}...

I used the Boxer range by Basic Grey for that album.

The third and last album was mainly created by my lovely scrapping community at a Creative Memories Scrap Day we had this past Saturday. Thanks so much ladies :) I particularly appreicate the extra help that Angi, Vicki, Linda, and Pauline offered and gave.

The Stella Ruby range by Basic Grey was used for that album.

For each album I also included more papers, letter stickers, embellishments, some extra pages & protectors... so the recepients can create titles and some of their own pages, additions. It was so easy to just go with a range for each album.

I have sold over $100 of my art over at the Etsy BushFire Appeal fundraiser. Thanks to those who bought my pieces and helped such a great cause.

Sound Relief was wonderful on the weekend, and appropriate that I watch that as I finished off the final touches to the albums above. I love our Aussie mateship.

Grade 3 make "Memory Gifts"...

Yesterday I had the great joy to teach Mikaela's class for a couple of hours... each of them created a "Blank Scrapbook Layout" for this wonderful cause:

I used the sketch provided by Petrina McDonald here to create a kit for each child {using a Basic Grey Infuse Collection Pack and other bits and pieces from my stash}, so all they needed to do was to put the page together... this is what they came up with:

I want to thank Sares for the inspiration behind this project... I had already discussed with Mikaela's teacher doing something with the class for the BushFire Appeal... we just weren't quite sure what?... then I found Sare's project, I am so glad I did...

The children loved creating these pages... using shipping tags they also wrote individual notes to which we attached their photographs, they were very sweet messages let me tell you... I may post Mikaela's later if she gives permission.

I hope the child who receives this album enjoys it as much as the children who made it for them.

I am going to be creating two more albums over the next few weeks... I may even rope my CIT students into it tonight *smile*

Deadline is 15th March... so you have plenty of time... even one layout will be MUCH appreciated, I am sure.

Plus I have some prints and originals on sale here... and there are LOTS of gorgeous items to buy where the proceeds go to the Red Cross.

Tragic beyond words...

The bushfires that are continuing... I am so saddened by this devastaging news. I have no words.

My thoughts and prayers are with the families who have lost their dear beloved, their homes... communities that have been totally destroyed.

So many lives lost.

Its just so terribly shocking.
