December Daily 1 & 2...

Okay, simply due to time and needing to pack all my supplies up, I guess I'll go digital this year... I am using this freebie kit by Arlyna (she is super generous & has lots of freebies).

So here is Day 1:

I will have to modify my traditional paper one and use it next year :) or I could print these as 8 x 8 and still use them. 

Listening to this and admitting I am much more than a little nervous about Mikaela's Dad's upcoming trip home to the DRC. Wishing him a safe and healing return to Australia.

Scrapping Goodness...

Since I got my CS4 recently I've been having so much fun playing with actions and getting further into the whole digi scrapping scene {there was a time when I would never have thought I'd say that!}. I've always loved InDesign, but these days I am getting into PhotoShop more and I am really enjoying it.

A few reasons why I am loving digi scrapping... 

• I dont make a HUGE mess;
• I am using lots of my scrapping stuff in my mixed media... I have kinda gone more art or digi scrapping of late;
• I find that I am able to focus more on what my intention for my scrapping is all about... telling the story, capturing the little things, the everyday pieces of our family and our life together.
• It doesnt take up any space (of which very soon I will be limited to just my desk);
• I can get a page done just as quickly as a tradditional one and the mistakes are not permanent, no glue, no stickers tearing my pages up;
• It is more instantly gratifying than having to print images off and get sorted before pulling the layout together.
• It is fun and something new and I am learning lots in the process.

I still have a ways to go and have lots to learn, but I am enjoying myself:) along the way. Playing.

Some elements are Ali Edwards you can find at Designer Digital. The layout above is Ali's and I got that from her SongBird kit she sponsored back in April.

I can see myself doing a LOT more digi scrapping and turning them into books... kinda like my blog, via Blurb, that I started doing BEFORE JOSHUA was born, and still not done. And that's my first blog, not this one. First blog 3 years... this one will be the same by the time I get the first one done!!! Yikes! 2010 goal of the year. Blurb my blogs!!!

Happy 104 month Anniversary...

To my girl. I did a digital layout and interviewed her this month...

The interview is the same one I did with her in December 2007... nice to see the changes in some of her responses.

Three little bubba's all in a row...

I did this digi layout on the laptop the other night while watching the teev with hubs and MIL:

I also added this very cool Polaroid frame to the same photos {it is much larger, I have just created a smaller file for a "sneak peek" here}:

The frame is by Author: Andrea Rascaglia (Rome - Italy) and is called "Andrea's Polaroid 89 Border" - you can get it for free from Action Central. 

On more digi news... I signed up to do the Jessica Sprague Photo Editing: Frame-ups and Special Effects online course ... which of course I have not had any time for. Hopefully I get a chance to get into some of it soon.

On other news, our little Benjamin was two weeks old yesterday. Our midwife came by and weighed him - he is now 5025grms. OH MY! He also has quite the set of lungs and can let out an enormous (ear piercing) cry... then he giggles in his sleep, quite a bit ... no kidding, it's the CUTEST thing:

A digi layout or two...

Here's a little layout I did using a template from Ali's Songbird kit and added some paper from Lynn Grieveson's "Beth" paper pack:

I also did this one yesterday to document a BIG milestone in the life of Mikaela... not sure I am ready for her to be getting phone calls from a boy, but it is happening none-the-less... and it is a huge event for her. Especially since she has had a crush on this boy for a while now {deary me}. The excitement is a little contagious and so very sweet. Her passion and determination, sheez... well I know where she gets it... so I sit and pray and hope she is not hurt. Already it begins! Crazy!

Again, I used a template from Ali's Songbird kit and added some paper from Lynn Grieveson's "Capri" paper pack this time:

I have also done some paper scrappin' lately with the ReVa May kit...
