Coastal Break…

    
We had a lovely time at LongBeach this past week. We stayed here and it was as relaxing and enjoyable as always (this was our third visit). The owners were fabulous at ensuring everything was just as it should be for our stay {they even drove down from Canberra to install another DVD player, they went above and beyond}. I highly recommend the house for any kinda stay… long, short, hot, cold… SandCastle is great!

Nath’s parents came with us and it was a great holiday… the weather was not great, but we have wetsuits for both Mikaela and Joshua, so they still got in some ocean enjoyment. Nath and I managed to get our ankles near frozen off… and therefore Ben did not get a drop of ocean action.

    
Our week was spent pretty much just relaxing and enjoying the break from our usual hectic schedules… Dusan (Deda) did the daily shop run and baked us some lovely bread each day, he also got in a bit of reading, playing trains, setting up tracks and rocking Ben to sleep from time to time; Jean {Nannie} did her Sudoko in between nursing Benjamin, playing with Joshua & Mikaela and trying to beat us all at Scrabble; Nath finished reading Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol, played Beatles Rockband and SingStar with Mikaela; I got lots of art done {some pretty girls and mandalas}; Mikaela and Joshua got to watch a few movies, run on the beach, go to the park, eat ice-cream, read lots of books, do puzzles… general holiday hang-a-bout stuff; Ben… well he did Ben stuff:  fed, slept, smiled, giggled, looked super cute and spewed a bit J

We went to Mogo {which is much like Harndorf in Adelaide Hills} we went to the zoo where Mikaela got to feed a giraffe and we saw a teeny tiny baby monkey.

My sister Lee and her housie Sue came down to visit on the weekend, cooked a big breaky and hung out.

Today Jean and I are taking Joshua to see a Thomas show… I can’t wait to see his reaction.

When Ben was just 3 days old Penny came to take some photos... she is still processing them, but sent a few for us to enjoy in the meantime (two of them I already posted yesterday):

Bye Bye {for now} Nannie and Deda...

Sadly yesterday Nath's parents had to return to Adelaide... it was fabulous having his Mum stay with us for the entirety of the school holidays. And his Dad was here for a couple of days too.

We hope you had an easy drive back to Adelaide and look forward to seeing you again real soon.

Joshua misses you MUCH !!! Me too :(

Going Slowly...

These days. Been making lists, and losing them, making more lists, finding old ones.  Still a LOT of sitting on the couch and chilling... has also to do with the fact that we expect snow here today or tomorrow... soups in the crock pot, fresh bread. Sewing projects for the nursery continuing. All good.

Lucky ME... lookie what arrived in my mail last week as part of my DT role with entreARTistes Magazine - the Kenner Road May kit:

It is SO YUMMY... & so right now I am working getting my project all together for the next issue:

I've also been doing a few pieces on wood and finishing with a delicious organic beeswax... 

I also made some laminated book marks for Miss Mikaela over the weekend as she is devouring the Roald Dahl's and finished one in a matter of days last night... quite the feat for the little one who was not all that interested in reading not so long ago. 

Tonight she has a "Pirate Dress Up's Party" at Girls Brigade, it will be interesting to see what stories come out of that one :) I am sure she will have a ball as always.

I had some pretty severe migranes this weekend, requiring medication and a 3am trip to the ER this morning, but I am feeling better now. Hopefully I stay that way till babes comes.

Weekend in Review….

I **love** a long weekend, especially a wet one, it pretty much has rained all weekend. We got to do quite a bit of family stuff, relaxing stuff, lots of eating and cooking. I did some sewing/scrapping… bit of cleaning and sorting.

Saturday night was family movie night, we watched “Bridge to Terabithia” which was really good.

Sunday morning Mikaela and I had “Mum & Daughter” date, went to a café for brunch then did some girly shopping, where Mikaela got some new Smiggle stuff (but of course!)

In the afternoon we made a gorgeous chocolate cake….

I managed to finish the other pram liner and the change/play quilt…

With the few charm squares I had left over I made a library bag for Mikaela…

This morning I made bacon and eggs for the family…

Nath rewarded me with taking the kids off to Questacon so I had some time to myself. Lucky Me.

I used that time to do some scrapping using the ReVa May kit… will share soon. If you haven't already, make sure you enter the competition to win yourself a kit :)

Bula...

Hiya, we are back safe and sound from our family holiday in Fiji... Thankyou for all the concern, however the unrest they are experiencing in Fiji presently was nowhere near us. In fact, we we were not even aware of the terrible {most recent} situation until we started getting lots of worried phone calls, emails and the like. Its so sad for such a beautiful country and such beautiful peoples to be in such continuing conflict.

We really did "not much" for the entire time we were away. Our days consisted of eating and swimming, reading, soaking in the sunshine, early nights and not much else.  By about Day 3, Nath turned to me and said "is this all we are going to do the whole time".... my reply was simply "yep!" It was so relaxing & really wonderful.

We spent a couple of nights in Sydney catching up with my beautiful sisters, shopping at Ikea for the nursery and general sightseeing & fun... unfortunately I don't have many pics as I had Ella serviced while we were there.

We got home yesterday afternoon... and I must say there really is no nicer feeling than coming home hey! Mikaela and Josh were so excited to be in their own "spaces" amoung all their own familiar "things"... it was lovely.

I am most pleased that I have already done all the washing... AND cleared my inbox. Really looking forward to getting back into the "swing of things" around here again... plus enjoying another week of school holiday's.

While away I managed to get a bit of Digital scrapbooking done. Shock horror... I had resisted for so long. I knew from my former life as a Technical Writer using mainly Adobe PhotoShop and InDesign, that if I opened that can again... I was tempting {or rekindling}yet another SERIOUS obsession. But hey, I finally relented & no surprises, I am loving it all over again)... will share the outcome/s this week. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

HUGE congratulations to my lovely & beautiful friend Lusi & her hubs Brett ... they had an adorable baby girl... Zipporah. I can't wait to see her :)

Weekend in Review...

We had a great weekend, reasonably relaxing... involving a whole lotta family, chill, sport and art time:

• Mikaela having a go at rollerblading

• Down to Kingston Foreshore to feed the ducks/swans

• Mikaela to her Dads for the night (and the 5o phone calls that ensue)

• Joshua swimming lessons

• Home so Nath can watch the Crows first game of the season

• I pack up all the ReVa May kits to completion {joy}

• Earth hour, an evening of candles, cuddles and deep & meaningfuls

• Breakfast at a cafe, Debarcle {name of cafe, not experience LOL}

• Wander into civic, browsing the stores for a couple of hours... get some fabric to decorate my stall this coming weekend

• Josh and I go on the Merry-go-round

• Home, relax... me creating lots of pieces for my stall, Nath watching sport

• Speak to Nath's parents on Skype

• Mikaela gets home from her Dads... we all go on a family bike ride down to the lake, have a picnic & run about.

• Chats with my gal pal Jodes last night... SUPER proud of her !!!

Thats about it, the weekend round-up. I hope you had a good one too :)

THIS week I am going to be quite busy... I have the last nights for my classes on Tuesday and Thursdays {little sad}, preparing for the stall, packing for Fiji, going to a ball on Saturday night, stall on Sunday and driving to Sydney Monday... taking off for Fiji on Tuesday.
