Backing up to Christmas Day...

After a rough start our Christmas Day turned out to be one of the best we've had in a long while...

Simply put it was a day of relaxing, engaging and connecting with loved ones, in the best possible way.

It's true that Lionel was sorely missed by us all... but we also managed to have some fun and celebrate as we knew he would have wanted us to, together.

This Christmas Day made me feel very much a part of the bigger picture of life, of taking care of our children and each other.

It made me appreciate my life and my family very much!

Beautiful Baby Girl...

My dear friend Deb, had a baby girl very recently. She is adorable. Simply divine. Benjamin and I got to hang for a few hours recently, and it was a pure delight, as only a newborn babe can be:

Oh my, she was adorable... simply cute as a button.

Her Mother is like the "Zen Master" and completly serene.

Her Daddy is totally inlove... TOTALLY, with both his girls.

Her Daddy is totally perfect for my wonderful friend!

I am beyond happy for my childhood friend!

Mikaela was beside herself and squealing at me to have another bubba. Ah, NO!

Oiwwww, the bliss of holding such an adorable newborn as Arlo.

My only complaint... the time spent together was way too short. 

Oh, and one other complaint... THEY ARE MOVING TO CHINA in just a few short weeks.

Seriously, Tanya is amazing... flys from Cairns to Canberra when her bubba is just over 3 weeks.

THEN is moving to CHINA when her bubs will be only just over six weeks old. I think she is amazing! I try not to get sad, she has always been a nomad type girl... but I will miss her. Have enjoyed the past few years of catching up with her up north. I feel teary writing this... friend like this are super rare and beyond special.

Goodluck gorgeous ones... it was so lovely to spend those precious few hours together.

2011 looks like I am going to China for holidays.

Happy Birthday to You...

Dear Kim

I hope you have a fabulous birthday today my beautiful friend!

You are a my tender friend whom I depend... sometimes a bit too much, which I hope you can forgive.

We share many misty moments because we understand each other well... and I never take this for granted, it is such a unique and special gift to have such a connection and bond with another person in this life, especially one who you consider a soul sister, as do you since the day we met !! If only it were sooner :(

You have made me laugh until I cry, you have made me laugh so much... and we've shared a few tears too.

Mostly we share an optimism and a belief in the good and beauty of this world of ours.

You care when most don't, you try when most won't... you shine when most can not. 

We share our truths, our faults and our desire to do better... and an unconditional love and acceptance that we may not be perfect, but an honesty and ability that we do not need to try to be.

We just be ourselves... together.

That is enough.

We speak the same language... you are a friend that always makes me feel loved, 

safe and special.

I love you, and on your special day I would like to let you know I feel very 

blessed by you and that your friendship enriches my life so much!

Thank you also for being such a wonderful God Mother to Joshua. You know my entire family adore you just as I do!

She is back...

And we are SUPER DELIGHTED...

None more-so than her GodSon {or her own boys} I am sure... but I would have be a pretty close second. 

I am super glad she arrived home before bubba #3 decided to join us. The thought of going into labour while she was in another country was a bit much for me :)

Kim my tender soul sister... I'm so grateful you are home. I missed you very much!

Sunrise Walk...

With my friend Martha, at 630am... such a gorgeous way to start the day...

These photos were taken with my mobile, so pretty ordinary... absolutely no justice at all given to the spectacular colours of the morning sky...

It was of particular significance to both Martha and I that we saw a black cockatoo when we had almost finished our walk. For me, it's the first time I have ever seen one in the wild. Gorgeous, magestic.

EDIT 1641hrs: what started off as a gorgeous day... quickly turned to mud when I had to rush Joshua to the doctors, then to emergency by ambulance as he had a reaction to peanut butter. Thankfully he never appeared in resporitory discomfort. He did however get a big welt rash on his face and chest, his face got very swollen, he vomitted all over himself, the car and me. He came good pretty quickly once he had a dose of cortisone. Mind you he was pretty fine the whole time... even drawing pictures at our GP's, while sitting on my lap, both of us covered in vomit... he chatting away to himself. Me trying not to vomit myself. A few hours observation in emergency and we were released. Thank God for a great GP, wonderful ambos (both female, which was nice to see :)) and great staff at the ER. Plus a super supportive and calm hubby {thanks babes!} He is now napping peacefully.

We are all relieved and rather tired.

Aussie Dare #46

March challenge over at Aussie Dares is WHITE... I really enjoyed doing this challenge. I used a recent photo of my and one of my besties, Jodie:

Reminded me of some of Misty Mawn's gorgeous work she did recently, all one colour paintings. Pink, Yellow, Red, White, Green, Orange, Blue... Are they not the most stunning pieces! Sigh :) Misty is not just super talented, she is such a beautiful soul.

I hope you have a great weekend, its a long weekend here and my MIL is visiting from Adelaide. We are doing a swap of Nath's study and the nursery... so that Joshua and bubba have a wardrobe. Photos to come next week at some stage, I hope.

She's Back !!!

... my bestie is BACK in Oz after 5 weeks teaching here. Yah!!

We had the absolute delight to just hang and chat together yesterday, pretty much ALL day, which is a rare occurance for us. Not one I take for granted when we get the opportunity. I love it!

As does her God Son...

They are so sweet together.

She TOTALLY ROCKS ! I am super proud of you Kim, you are an inspiration and a wonderful friend, I've missed you much... but I *love* all that you are doing. Your teaching, your learning, your growing and evolving... it's a wonderful & exciting life journey you're on & you *SO* deserve it! I am blessed to be by your side. Always, as you well know!

Lookie who I can see...

Isnt technology just amazing??, well yes, der... we all know that!!

Still every now and again we are reminded in very solid ways... like chatting to my girl Kim {God Mother to Joshua} while she is teaching in Thailand***.

I see her, I see her excitement, I see her joy, I see her Thailand glow {nice way of saying sweatiness, hey - I've been I KNOW all about it LOL :)}... I see HER.

And it is so wonderful to see her so happy and relaxed.

So brave is my friend Kim. I am so proud of her and her journey.

Nath, Joshua and I all had a great time catching up and squealing in excitement for her {well that was only me, but anyways}... Mikaela was at her Dad's and so unfortunately missed her this time around, but will catch her next time, no doubt.

I miss you babes. You are a wonderful inspiration and soul, I love you much!

***Global Vision International has SO many different projects around the world... so exciting to have my brave friend be part of this exciting and wonderful organisation. I dream of spending a year or more in Africa.... sigh... one day when my kidlets are bigger and I am about 60years old LOL {and Mikaela is old enough to volunteer too, if she chooses} *smile*

Tuesday already???

So Friday was my Gorgy Gorgeous Gal Pal Vanessa's birthday.

Saturday we commenced celebrating having Vanessa in our lives and her big day. We began with brunch at Oaks Brasserie in Yarralumbla.... YUM!! This was such a lovely brunch, it went for 3 hours or so... Vanessa has the most amazing women tribe, I was so happy to have met them all and place names to faces.

We came back and hung out with the family, did our toes and watched Wall E...

Then we went out for dinner to Cream (which THIS TIME was lovely, I'd been there a couple of times and been disappointed, but this time was delicious and perfect!!)... Again Vanessa's friends are so lovely and we had a great time. I made some lovely connections and I felt Vanessa had really given us all a gift.

Afterwards we went to the Dendy Premium theatre (where the seats recline into beds and food and drinks are brought to you) ... naturally, we watched Australia.

Australia was BRILLIANT !! I loved it. I love the addressing the history of our nation, of the mistakes we made and the apology... I love that we dont just ignore that truth! We still have a long ways to go, but it is a great start. I especially loved Brandon Walters (I could rave and rave and rave and rave about him, he is just amazing):

He is gorgeous and HE is the one who made the movie so wonderful. I get teary even reading all these articles about him.. he was SO POWERFUL, his performance was so powerful... he is just incredible!

I didnt get home until 1am... and Joshua had been fine without me... of course! But I wasnt sure as it had been the first time I'd been away from him so long. All good.

Sunday we had a super crazy day... Mikaela had horseriding, then a pool party, Nath and I did groceries and the markets, home to put all yummy seafood and goodies into the fridge, I prepped my potoatoe salad, Nath made pannacotta... then rush out the door for Mikaela's soccer game. Home and about 40 minutes before 8 peeps arrive for a late afternoon BBQ... a busy but most enjoyable day...

Not at all surprising, yesterday I was totally out of action from around 11am when I got a killer migrane which lasted into the evening. Still managed to get a few things done which I will share soon...

Lets just say for the first day of christmas my true love gave to me ... exactly what I needed. Cryptic I know ...but I promise to share soon, its very good.
