Father's Day Mini Album...

This year I created this mini album for Nath...

I made a series of "love you" pages and added journaling. Here is the first page:

 

  
  

 

 

 

 

 

The little red envelope includes little love notes from each of us. Benjamin's is really something quite special !

I hope you had a wonderful Father's Day too... happened to also be my darling husband's BIRTHDAY. So he got thoroughly spoiled all day.

Christmas Album, Days 14 - 25...

Day 15... It doesnt snow at Christmas time in Australia, but still I use the snowflakes page, go figure!

Lift the overlay to find the chipboard tree and gifts... cute cute!...

 

I also have a pile of supplies to include in the building of the album process. And, as with last year, some plastic footy card sleeves.

I find early preparation is an advantage, but not so much... I mean honestly I could get this album prepared on Boxing Day for the following year and still, nothing can quite prepare me for the onslaught of December each year. LOL!!

25 days of Christmas Album prepared...

I've had this sitting about for a few weeks, thought I'd add some stitching to some of the pages, then thought better of it... can do so as I am building the album each day.

Here are pages 1 to 13:

I used a Teresa Collins album cover. 

 

Page one is water colour paper left over from some other project...

 

That's a Bella chipboard page there for day 2...

 

Day 3 is an acrylic page with scalloped edges, loving the scallops!

 

Day 4 is a quarter of a 12x12 page:

 

Another bella chipboard page for Day 5, I'll stitch the cardstock onto it...

 

An A5 chocolate brown envelope for Day 6...

 

Day 7 has a photo overlay, these are super cute, with glitter by My Little Yellow Bicycle...

 

Beneath the transparent overlay is watercolour paper again...

 

Day 8, simple green cardstock...

 

Day 9, another quarter of a 12x12 page:

 

Day 10 water colour paper with another transparent overlay by MLYB...

 

Day 11, some cardstock and a torn piece of sheet music...

 

Day 12, third quarter of a 12x12 page...

 

Day 13 is just the transparent photo overlay, no water colour paper backing...

 

I really enjoy the mix and match way of putting this album together. I store pieces for Christmas from the year before and through out the year if I find anything that catches my eye.

I guess now I have started this album, I really should finish last years one... I did really well until we got on the road at Day 22 to drive over to Adelaide, away from my printer I found it difficult to complete. Still 11 months later a few pages need finishing!!! Naughty me!

This year I will try very hard to keep up with it, upside is that we are not going on holidays until after Christmas Day, down side is that we are moving house half way through December.

See how I go. Tomorrow I'll post days 14-25. I love seeing all the before and after shots, so if you are doing this album too, I'd love to see your "naked" album.

You & Me...

is a layout I did for Ngarie's Top Ten "Typography" in the latest issue of Scrapbook Creations, Issue 67:

I had a fun time creating this little layout using various fonts and type. Typography is also often featured in Creating Keepsakes magazine... it is definitely a main design element of any page I create and mixing them up together is lots of fun. Plus it is a great way of using up your supplies.

A digi layout or two...

Here's a little layout I did using a template from Ali's Songbird kit and added some paper from Lynn Grieveson's "Beth" paper pack:

I also did this one yesterday to document a BIG milestone in the life of Mikaela... not sure I am ready for her to be getting phone calls from a boy, but it is happening none-the-less... and it is a huge event for her. Especially since she has had a crush on this boy for a while now {deary me}. The excitement is a little contagious and so very sweet. Her passion and determination, sheez... well I know where she gets it... so I sit and pray and hope she is not hurt. Already it begins! Crazy!

Again, I used a template from Ali's Songbird kit and added some paper from Lynn Grieveson's "Capri" paper pack this time:

I have also done some paper scrappin' lately with the ReVa May kit...

Actually I've done quite a bit using this kit, for MUCH more eye candy by myself and my super talented Design Teamer and lovely friend, Di Turner you can take a look over here.

Happy 1st of May...

I blame pregnancy hormones that it totally slipped my mind to share my finished Heidi Swapp Calendar {click to see all pages}. Look what I "found"...

I say "found" because I didnt know it was lost... so I guess really I discovered it :)

 

It is a mini album of Joshua's first birthday party, which we celebrated by way of a lovely family & friends BBQ gathering hosted by my gorgeous SIL Cassie {and her fabulous hubs, Matt}at their home in the Adelaide Hills. Last September. Sheez...

This discovery occured over the long weekend when Mikaela and I did some cleaning of my studio. Says a lot about the state it was in :) We got 3 large plastic boxes cleared out and put away. Quite an achievement really!

So it looks as tho my nesting has extended to my studio... joy of joys!

Is my scrapbooking course I teach at our local tafe on Tuesday nights each term.

Here are a couple of layouts and a mini-album I did last term by way of "in-class demonstrations" for my students:
