... is what I experienced after my epic road ride on Christmas Eve.
55kms... some nasty hills, and a mountain, 2 hours + 20 mins... some 1400 calories burned.
During our long ride, there were lots of cyclists coming the other way, a woman at the back of a pack with reindeer antlers on her helmet, I gave her a "nice" call out and a big smile and nod ...
Then IronMum rode up beside me and I said "Merry Christmas Rowie"... and it hit me, the cascading wave of emotion to be feeling so lucky and blessed to be living this fit life. And relieved to be over the major part of the ride, for sure... I started to cry. IronMum was like... "are you crying"... "we don't have far to go, we've done all the hard hills"...
No, no ... I am crying because I am happy I replied...
To be out for a fantastic, mostly gruelling road ride... on Christmas Eve... with crystal blue skys and sun shine beaming... cows and sheep in the paddocks, rolling hills, big deep valley's, green pastures... and at least 30 other like minded fitness focuses souls... it amazes me that this is my life.
Made me feel very lucky.
Merry Christmas... and a Happy New Year.
Me and the family are off to FNQ to our holiday home for a couple of weeks of R&R.
I'll try and drop in from time to time.
I wish you and yours a wonderful time over the next few weeks.
Love & Peace.

Nik...
You are a gun, doing a 7km run on Xmas Day!!!
I would have loved to do similar, but there is no way my 3 kiddies {or hubs} would allow it... Xmas day had to be my rest day :)
Hugs

Hi Bec
You are an inspiration - what an achievement! I'll be thinking of your triumphs when I get on the saddle soon.
