Gear up = Lulu...

Of course! I am whore for this brand, seriously... I am a ridiculously shallow person... and to prove so, here are my latest aquisitions from the brand I adore so:

While in Sydney recently I got minself these few items:

1. The Flow Y Bra is a staple of mine. Stripes, hello... yum! lovely coloured stripes too... yes this I had to have!

2. Cool Racerback, this one is very near the same colour as a musk stick, you remember those right? I have to stop myself from licking my top during the day.

3. Define Jacket, I LOVE this jacket, been wanting one for ages. Months at least. really. yes. I thought I'd wait until closer to winter... but this crazy weather we are having means I still need one today - so now I have myself one and it is lovely! Little mittens... toasty fingers!

4. Run Inspire Crop pants with a ruffle... did you say RUFFLE?? hello cuteness. I'm not sure a woman my age can ever be considered cute... but my childish brain has not matured past age about 7 some days... so cute we have it! Asides there is part of me that believes we can be cute way into our 90s, why not?

5. Socks... these are my faves... LOVE them... I will trowel through buckets of clean clothes and mountains of socks to find me a matching pair of these... don't even need to be the same colour. These socks are a.maaaaaa.zing!

So there you go... my wallet is slim... but my workout draws are stuffed to the brim. good. stuff.

Shoes for Oona...

One of my fantabulous FIT sistas wanted to see the shoes that we wore for finale.

These were mine:

I just fell in lust with them the moment I saw them... I knew they were the ones for me!

And the matching handbag:

I loved the pop of colour they provided... and the were all fluro at the party. Super cute.

I am not sure if I could wear them for much longer than a few hours tho. OUCHie ouchie!

My feet are accustomed to Chuckies, sneakers and ballet flats. High heels hurt me these days!

My White Knight has arrived...

And I have officially found a new love.

I even got myself a new pair of shoes... as my vintage mountain bike ones are only for RIDE classes!

Yesterday IronMum and I went out for a spin... it was awesome.

To be frank, I was quite scared before we took off... what if I can't get my feet out to the cleats, what if I fall over, what if I can't stop and my feet get stuck... and I fall over!

I have never ever used cleats on the road, and it's quite a daunting propositon. For years when I was mountain biking {see above, vintage shoes} I was terrified of making the leap from slide in cages to cleats... but yesterday I DID IT...

I was pleasantly surprised to find.... it was easy peasy and I LOVED it so much.

That's not to say I won't have some difficulties in the coming weeks as my kms ramp up and my road time increases. Fingers crossed, I'll go okay!

I am looking forward to doing the Tour de Femme training (and race itself) with my FIT crew.

And while I can't run for now, I can certainly pedal my legs as hard as they'll go.

This summer I'll complete my first triathlon (baby ones), and I am so looking forward to that.

I just have to watch IronMum doesn't think I can keep up with her, and do her crazy rides out to Goulburn and back too soon... I have to keep my enthusiasm in check here! I am sure my body will do it for me in any case :)

This morning I did a water running session... and after a few weeks away from the pool, boy oh boy did my core feel it!

Today I am returning to Persona Training (PT) with the wonderful Fiona, who has put me through many a smashing session. She sent me an SMS last night telling me to carb load!!! Meanie. Wish me luck - or guts and determination! Watching this clip before I head out the door always helps!

I *heart* LuluLemon...

Yes I do.

It's no secret... most my stuff is Lulu.

And you know what?... we don't have a LuluLemon store in my town. Nope.

There is one {some} in Sydney, and Adelaide where we visit every so often during the year.

Then I get my fix.

This time I got this stuff:

Run: Turbo Crop ; Run: Swiftly Tech short sleeve tee and a bra top (with padding!!!!)

There is also the online shopping option, which I have done once before. If you know your sizes than it's easy.

I actually wanted to get some DASH tights, but they had sold out of the smaller sizes :( hopefully they have them in Sydney when I am up there in a few weeks.

Preparing for sub zero running...

Requires a fair amount of gear.

By gear... I mean thermal tops and pants, gloves, hats... layers upon layers.

I took a look at a nice little scull cap at Katmandu today - $59 bucks!! Uhm, ok-aaaay!

SHeez!

One of my favourite running magazines happens to be a UK mag... and happens to have a awesome online store advertised in most issues. I lust over this advert... I've been building my wish list in my mind over the past few months.

And today was the day... today I did some online shopping, made that wish list into a reality... and here's what I got:

1. More Mile Calgary Thermal Running Tights (Short Length)
2. Nike Dri-Fit Filament Running Tights
3. More Mile Saponara Long Sleeve Top (Black)
4. More Mile Saponara Long Sleeve Top (Pink)
5. More Mile Vancouver Thermal Hi-Viz Top (Red)

7. PowerBar Ride Shots (6 - SIX packets, Lemon flavour)
8. Nike Lightweight Running Skullcap (I got two of these, one grey and one black)

So HOW MUCH did all this kit set me back??? HOW MUCH MONEY DID I SPEND ??? Including postage...

Pennies for luck...

When I was little my Pop used to sing-song that saying "find a penny, pick it up and all day long, you'll have good luck"... to me and my sisters.

I am not sure if he said anything else to me in this regard, or if I simply made up my own childlike translation. Somehow at around age eight {8} I would put one cent pieces into my shoe before a cross country race.

I felt I had both luck and my Pop with me during the run.

So I've adapted that approach to do the same with my marathon running:

I have a penny from the year my Pop was born, 1914 and I have made some adjustments to be able to attach it to my running shoe.

I often feel my Pop with me, especially when I am running, for some reason.  I am not sure why, it's always been that way for me.

I know, corny, nerdy and dorky... but hey, that's me!

Yes I do.

My husband does not love you as much.

Oh he loves me wearing you.

Not so much the buying you bit though!

Right now I am eagerly awaiting a package containing this, this, this, this, and a few of these inside. Postal JOY on its way. Love that!

Mostly all of my workout gear is LuluLemon nowadays.

To know LuluLemon ... is to LOVE LuluLemon.

These running tops look amazing! Hence why they were sold out after only hours of announcing them :( Winter is on it's way you know! I shudder just to think of it!

I have to wait until I can try them on, as I am not sure on my sizing for them.
