CISAC 50mtr pool.
My Mini Milestone today was to do 50 laps of a 50 meter pool. Which I did at 7am this morning.
Mikaela came with me, she got bored. She was a good coach though, counting down my laps and offering encouragement.
We arrived at around 10 to 7... there were 22 people waiting to get in. Personally, I wish the pool opened at 6am... because that's my usual time to train, and that's what I feel comfortable with.
Starting later means... I eat later, my meals for the entire day are behind my usual schedule. Oh well.. it is what it is. I don't eat before I train... if I have a race, then I do & I have to wake about 4 hours before start time to get the food in and digested before start (that's the theory).
Anyhooo... this morning my aim was to do 2.5km, I finished in just over an hour, I'm happy with that.
Initially my intention was to swim 5km {100 laps) as part of my Mini Milestone of 12WBT... however my soft tissue therapist told me that was not an option. He asked told me that I could only do 2.5kms, NOT 3km as I suggested, just 2.5km !! okay okay OK!!! Totally sucks, but I know I have to listen to him. He is afterall, one of the best... and I am fortunate to have him taking care of me.
I've been swimming in a much smaller pool, this morning we went to CISAC to take on the 50mtr. I was a little apprehensive, but in actual fact I found it fabulous... I really enjoyed it. I felt I was able to stretch out... and really put in for each lap.
I am finding that I am really missing my running this week... very much so.
However, I am enjoying my swimming more and more with every training session, and I know it's making me stronger and will serve me well with my aspirations and goals.
Tomorrow, just another 1.5km, and I think I am having PT with Fiona, but it's another public holiday here, so not sure.
Happy Training.

PS: IRONMAN KONA is on right now, and I am watching the live stream as I write this... so if it doesn't make any sense, that would be why. OMG they are amazing athletes!!! IronMan is: 2.8km swim, followed by 180km ride and then a marathon (42.2km run). A.M.A.Z.I.N.G !!!! One day, one day I'll do one, probably just under the cut off of 17 hours! Or just to finish would be incredible. I have to say... watching IronMan makes me ITCH to get back to my cycling and running... to get back to my hard training. Sigh! I know, I know... patience grasshopper! It just really sucks, being injured.
PPS. IronMum, when you read this you will be knackered... I know you are on a high and had the most awesome day. I am SO looking forward to hearing all about it. I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!! that you are there among your tribe. Love you! Bx
