Palm Cove is just that... a cove lined with Palms, and because it is a cove it is "protected" from lots of weather conditions. Being the wet season, we did get some rain. Rain indicated in Cairns rarely reaches Palm Cove. Certainly the rains that have devastated much of QLD were not in this region.
My heart goes out to all families who have lost loved ones. It is such a heartbreaking tragedy. I've been in constant contact with my Dad, who is in Brissy. My family (and my hub's business) have made donations quietly... I hope you are in a position to do the same. Saddens me to see all the shameless self promoting of peoples businesses, on facebook and otherwise in the name of this disaster.... actually it really pisses me off! If you are donating your services for FREE that is one thing, but to ask for ANY kinda fee... well that's just rude!
