And he is such a little cutie pat-tooooot-eee !!
Say hello to Mario:
Oh my goodness, he is a giggle snort fest for all of us... he is so funny, so cuddly, so darn cute.
Santa had promised our kiddies they'd get a kitten, but had to chose him or her themselves. Mikaela was keeping daily watch on Pet Rescue and found Mario the moment he arrived. He'd be ready to adopt mid March, we first went to see him some weeks ago to make sure he was right for us. He was is perfect.
Mikaela and I went to collect him on the Canberra Day public holiday a few weeks back. We were nervous to be taking him from his Mumma. Mikaela was crying on the way home, feeling bad we were taking him from his 5 sibblings and his Mumma. He on the other hand fell asleep during the drive, in his cat carrier, on Mikaela's lap.
We arrived home to two very excited boys {and a grinning Dadda} "Mario, Mario" they squealed. We set down the cat carrier and thought we'd just keep on with what we were doing, boys playing a giant foam puzzle with Dad... and let Mario come out by himself. I felt he was taking a bit too long, so I got him out and he started exploring, sniffing about and getting into the little hidy spots of our coffee table.
I thought introducing him to our older {7 years} cat, Paris, right up would be the way to go. She hissed. She is still hissing, but not so venoumously. She is going to take a bit of time to get used to our cute adorable, totally invaded her home and family little bundle.
Things I never tire of since Mario arrived: How as soon as Mikaela is home from school everyday she get's her homework and a rug, some cushions, her afternoon tea and takes him outside with her. How Joshua and Ben run around with him both indoors and outdoors all day. How they snuggle with him. How Ben say's "look at Mario Josh, he's sooooo cute"... I need to record that little toddler voice, adorable.
I am also super thankful that he is totally toilet trained, since the first hour we got him home... at it. Only two little slip ups since he's been here, for a kitten, that's awesome.
Another thing I am so grateful for is that I am home with him most all day, everyday. It would break my heart to leave him alone all day long... or for many hours. The first day I had to go to the gym, boys and I were off into the car, I rang Nath on the way, worried about Mario.... maybe he could just go check on him? {super thankful Nath can do that if need be}.
Mario is super active, charges about... then he crashes and is just the sweetest, snuggly boy.
Now we await Paris to think he is adorable too!
Love out.
