Backing up to Christmas Day...

After a rough start our Christmas Day turned out to be one of the best we've had in a long while...

Simply put it was a day of relaxing, engaging and connecting with loved ones, in the best possible way.

It's true that Lionel was sorely missed by us all... but we also managed to have some fun and celebrate as we knew he would have wanted us to, together.

This Christmas Day made me feel very much a part of the bigger picture of life, of taking care of our children and each other.

It made me appreciate my life and my family very much!

Vivo in Palm Cove...

Our holiday tradition, breaky at Vivo. Delish!!

No matter how small the tradition is... we enjoy creating special memories with our little family.

Tradition unfortunately is not as respected as it perhaps was generations ago, or in our mixed culture society... Nathan and I try hard to create tradition for our family that will continue year after year.

Even small traditions are significant when honored year upon year.

This is just one of ours. We also have Silver Sands & I'll share that once home in a few days.

Holidaying at Angsana....

... Is where we are at right now!

We are enjoying the sun, pools, swimming and relaxing.

We are spending most days in the pool, most nights with "family movie time" which equates to a movie we all like, blankets, snacks and cuddles. So far its been "meet the Robinsons" and "the Lorax". The past two nights Ben has fallen asleep half way through.

Yesterday we went to the movie theatre to see "wreck it Ralph" highly recommend it - we all love it !!

Tonight we are off to the Cairns Night Zoo for dinner and fun... Later in the week Mikaela and I will go horse riding... But other than that, not much! Just chillaxing poolside & together - a stress free, relaxing holiday, together. Sigh!

Life is good & I feel very blessed ... 2013 is going to be a lovely year!

An unusual start to Christmas morning...

Our Christmas morning started with a 2am wake up by our 5 year old telling us he couldn't breathe!!

By 2:30am we'd taken an ambulance ride to the hospital. Josh got to wear the 'Darth Vader' mask on the way = 5mls of adrenalin.

By 6am with a dose of steroids and some takeaway - we were picked up by Dad - home to unwrap pressies Santa had left.

By 7:30am I was taking a nap after spending most of the night awake.

As for the rest of the day - it was lovely and awesome!! I'll do a post on that separately.

Thankfully after a course of steroids Joshua was right as rain again!
