I just love them so much… ever since I was a little girl I have had much love for butterflies... I remember one landing on me when I was sitting on a church lawn in Italy, I was pregnant with Mikaela... I just held my breath and watched the most delicate and beautiful creation...
I made this
layout when Mikaela was just a few months old and I think the quote encapsulates
what I love about them so much…
“Love is like a butterfly… it goes where it
pleases, and pleases where it goes”... I remember that I painstakingly made the antennae to those butterflies out of wire! My fingers hurt so much... that was back in the day where I would spend hours on a layout!!
To me butterflies represent Love and
Freedom all at once. I often put them into my mixed media pieces in
some way & my scrapbooking too.
I have these stickers which I adore and wish I had more, I got them when Joshua was a babe and I have been a bit precious about using them (which I know I shouldn't be!)...
While down the coast, visiting Mogo
recently, I came across this fabulous Scrapbooking/Craft/Art store: Amanda’s of
Mogo. If you are down that way I highly recommend you visit. She has a HUGE
array of items that we just cannot get here in Canberra. She has lots of
product that I usually only ever see at the Craft Fair… like Adirondack® Alcohol Inks and
giant punches, well I could go on and on… Amanda seriously has so much fabulous
stuff. Thankfully if you are not going down the coast you can still buy at her
online store (tho not all of it is online yet, so ring if you have a particular
item in mind)…. she will probably have it!
Anyways I got these gorgeous stamps:
I am so so so looking forward to playing with them and using them in lots of new art.
Also recently, I got these (Jean, my MIL, got them
from Mt Barker for me as they had sold out at my local):
I plan to make another variation of this for Mikaela's room {been meaning to for a while now}.
There are so many ideas I have for these punches... this idea by Lolly Chops is a must do!
