School holiday wrap up...

I created this layout to do a re-cap of the school holidays and what we all got up to over the past two weeks.

 

We had a great time. I always feel a bit blue on the Monday when Mikaela returns to school... and her schedule LOL! Tonight we have swim lessons for an hour... I'll be taking my portable studio with me and see what I can come up with.

Pretty much all templates, papers, tags, embellishments are from Designer Digitals.

Mikaela is playing in the under 12s division this year... her whole under 10 team were put up to this level... so she'll have about 3 years in the u12s. She loves the game but finds it hard to concentrate at times.

I think I will need a scrap weekend to get all these pages done. I try very hard to set myself a limit of 20-30 minutes and put a page together when that small amount of time presents itself to me... but there is always so many other things that need to be done. 

Ah this lovely life... I guess it means that I am busy living it instead of documenting it. 

The thing is, that I'd like to be able to both... life just goes so quickly and as the boys are getting older and saying such cute things... reminds me that I haven't really "captured the essence" of Mikaela very well in the scrapbooks I have of her at the same age. Oh sure, some pages I have very well... but not as many as I'd like.

These days I think any page done is a good one! With that thinking, I guess all pages I have ever done are good ones, even ones that I no longer really love... old style ones... they are all pages to our story, our life... of our days. And that is good enough for me.

Here's to capturing our days and memories as best we can.

Oh and as a wife a super duper accountant... happy first of the new financial year!

365 days old...

Already! is our little Benjamin.

How time flies.

Just 366 days ago we were waiting for you to arrive, full of anticipation and excitement. I so loved carrying you. 

Then 365 days ago today you came into our lives. You are such a special soul Benjamin... we all adore you. Every day we love you more and more than the day before!

365 Days: an update...

I have so many days missing, but I am not going to concern myself about that little matter. I am happy with my self imposed challenge to do a layout a day for the 365 days of twenty ten. I have created an album here to store them all in for you to see.

I am trying not to think of what I haven't done, and instead, concentrate the layouts that I HAVE done. Here are two I have finished these past couple of days:

 

First layout is a Cathy Zielske template from Designer Digitals.

Second one I created myself using frames and papers etc from Designer Digitals. I used Photobooth on my imac to take the photos ... I love photobooth. I have SO many photos of Ben and I taken with it. I did this layout here, also using photobooth images... I love the snapshot of time that layout shows.

So happy it's the weekend. Got lots happening here. Furniture being delivered for Mikaela's bedroom (Joshua's bed has not yet arrived in the warehouse, so we wont get that for another few weeks now)... I have a few girlie friends coming over on Sunday for an Artists Date. I also need to get a wall and a shelf painted. Other than that the usual swimming, basketball, groceries, cleaning. Oh and a bit of relaxing and hanging out together too.

It is all about Ben...

It was such a magical celebration of a most magical little boy. He is darling. Right now he is starting to stand by himself for extended periods... and he is super pleased with himself too.

He is adorable. My third babe is just heavenly. Seriously. Ben rarely cries. Sleeps with us (we do need to change that quick smart, as it is becoming dan-ger-ous now he is so active... he has already fallen once!) He now only crawls to the end of the bed and "calls" out to me. Cute.

Ben really is simply fabulous... my sister is doing his chart and sent me an sms:

"venus and mars align in taurus and he has the IT factor"... okay, well we already knew/thought that regardless of the aligning of planets and all. If you met him you would seriously think so too... he is pure delight.

Photobooth Love...

Another reason why I love my iMac so much: de-cluttering the other day I came across all these photos I'd been taking of Ben and I. Pretty much since he was born. I wasn't quite sure how I'd pull them together in a layout... then I found this I'd downloaded from SongBird Avenue, November 2009 Mosaic. Which also happens to be a freebie gift, so... go get yourself one.

 

I love the end result. A nice little snapshot of us together over the past few months. Have fun with yours.

Happy 5 months to you little guy...

 Hey there Ben...

Wowsers little guy, what can I say... you have really come into your own this past month and you have surely stolen my heart more than ever, each day... just a little more enters the palm of your hand.

I am totally besotted with you. It is quite something this giggly little thing we have going on.

Sadly for me, you are in love with lots of people... well I know this is a good thing for you... but hey, I KNOW how quickly you will grow into a toddler... I am savouring every morsel of your babyiness for me, and for as long as I can.

Okay, enough gushing... what have you been up to this past month??

> You were weighed the other day, 7.6 kg. 

> You are still sleeping with {in between} Mum and Dad and loving it.

> You can sit by yourself if propped up by cushions.

> You are starting to get mobile, you can roll over from front to back, and back again.

> You dig your feet in and push yourself about... I put you down in one place and come back to find you in another!

> You are super, too cute.

> You continue to stare intently at everything your brother does... only now he seems to be very aware of your attention and chats to you, or comes down and kisses you, lays beside you, "plays" with you by patting you or giving you toys.

> You have a tonne of expressions, mainly BIG cheesy grins and adorable eyes... but you have quite a range and you talk a lot too.

> Tomorrow we are going to start you on solids, you make a whole lotta noise and I am sure if you could you would jump onto our plates at times. You've made it pretty clear you are ready to get a spoon to your mouth. See how we go.

> At the moment you are on antibiotics as you've picked up a nasty from your Dad which is causing some irritation to your tonsils... should be gone soon.

> You are just the cutest little bear and we all adore you tremendously!!!

because he is the only one to do as I say...

...or to not complain too much {up until he has had enough, and by then I have plenty of shots}. I took these yesterday morning and had a bit of a play, this is what I did:

I am SO loving on him, he is at that most adorable stage - even tho he'll give his "Mumma Smile" away to just about anyone!!! Okay 20 lovely photographers are not just anyone... but today he gave one to the air conditioning repair guy. I mean, come on!!! Dude, he's a guy. Nothing like your Mumma. Save those smiles for ME!

He is a cutie for sure! He just loves everyone. He is infectiously delighted with one and all. 

Happy Tuesday, & Melbourne Cup day - it's a public holiday here and I am going on a cafe date with my girl :)

3 months already...

This little bubba is 3 months old today!

Dear Ben, 

You are the sweetest baby ever! You are always smiling. You wake with a big grin and pretty much have it all day long. This is a big change from your first few weeks where you were colicy and at times unconsolable. We got you to see a fabulous Osteopath and we have not looked back. The improvement is dramatic... you are like a new bubba, happy always now. You are starting to try roll over and do sit ups... your favourite toy is one that Auntie Cass and Uncle Matt bought your brother, an inflatable donut that you sit in and chat away to a little hanging toy. You are chomping down on anything and everything you can put into your mouth of late... I have felt your teeth are moving about, I am sure they are a bit painful. You are showered in affection by both your sister and brother... they are always hugging and kissing you. You babble away constantly... you are very vocal and can make quite a bit of noise. Hanging with you is one of my favourite things to do Ben, you are such a delight. This month you got to go on a plane (and you were great). This week you are getting your first taste of the ocean.

You are so very very loved Ben.
