Alone + Together...

Nath and I had two nights alone together in Sydney this past weekend.

It was A-MAY-ZING!!

This was to be a surprise birthday gift to Nath... but I told him a few days prior so he could arrange a day off work etc. Kinda required when you are a partner. I knew too that he would love the surprise of me arranging it all, but would still like to know.

My dear friend, Jacqui (thankyou thankyou a thousand times!) and I planned this months ago. She and her hubs and little son Joel had our three kiddies for two nights. They had a ball, and almost didn't want to come home.

We got to our accomodation at 2pm, as we had to wait another hour for our room on the 25th floor (instead of taking one then and there on the 10th)... we took a stroll down to the Quay. Perfect weather.

Back to our hotel Nath watched his beloved Crows get a hiding, and I watched Series 2 of Downton Abbey... with Nath's birthday pressie (I think the whole family will be fighting for them on our plan trip to Hawaii in a few weeks). They are really fabulous. 

We then caught an evening ferry over to Manly. We found a lovely little Thai restaurant, whereby my dear husband tried to test my love for him to see if I would scream madly at strangers to help my husband "he is choking... I'm not kidding HELP ME!!!" or just let him choke. I of course screamed madly and then we left pretty quickly to go get an icecream instead. Which was a bit of a shame because the Thai food was the best we've had in a while.

Sunday we had a lovely buffet breakfast at the hotel. Honeycomb on a rack, I've not seen that before. Then we went up to the Pylons and took in the lovely habour views. 

Some shopping for Nath and a new pair of shoes for me.

Then a historical tour. Amazing! We both LOVED it. We are nerds and love this kinda thing.

Then a delicious and authentic Italian meal and a very full bellied walk home.

Monday we again had another great breakfast then headed back to Pitt Street for a little more shopping (gifts) then headed back to collect our cherubs (and by this stage we really felt they were delightful little cherubs once again... not the annoying and grating rug rats we dropped off some 48 hours prior)!!

A nice cruise home and life is sweet again.

There is nothing like a bit of "hello you" time alone with your partner. We just felt so great to be alone together and we had so much fun.

3 years...

yesterday, since we did this. Happy Anniversary!

We had an awesome anniversary lunch at Rubicon, as Nath had basketball... we couldn't do dinner. Lunch was amazing! About a gazzillion calories, but it just had to be done! Ha. It was totally worth every morsel of the most delicious food!

One of the gifts I got for Nath is this one:

It's roughly 13.5 inches x 30 inches and lives at the end of our hallway. 

Nath thoroughly spoiled me with gifts of a gorgeous red Suede leather jewellery box, a few Pandora charms and some Swarovski earrings and necklace... placed nicely inside the jewellery box... noiwwwww. Nath is so good at keeping to the theme of each anniversary, third being leather and crystals.

After a crazy hectic day, I came home and was greeted by these:

Unbelieveable.

I am very lucky!

I LOVE this man like crazy!

I got this couple questionnaire from a google search, thought it would be fun to document some of the "Nathan and Rebecca" story so far:

 ♥ What are your middle names?  Mine is Lorraine and he does not have one.

♥ How long have you been together?  5 years {almost}

♥ How long did you know each other before you started dating? Not long, about 4 months.

♥ Who asked who out? I think I did, via email! He chose the venue tho.

♥ Whose siblings do you see the most? Probably both pretty equally.

♥ Do you have any children? Yes, three all up: Mikaela is Nath’s stepdaughter, Joshua and Benjamin are ours together.

♥ What about pets? A cat named Paris, given to Mikaela by my sisters, she loves Nathan the most.

♥ Which situation is the hardest on you as a couple? Getting lost in Paris while on vacation. We had a 5 year old, three huge suitcases and I was 24 weeks pregnant or thereabouts. We ended up in the bohemian quarter near to midnight. Very unhappy few hours. Very Ugly!

♥ Did you go to the same school? Nope.

♥ Are you from the same home town? Nope.

♥ Who is the smartest? Depends who you ask. Well Nath is very good in a crisis, level headed, business savvy and knows his history. I have all the other smarts J

♥ Who is the most sensitive? It would have to be me, but Nath would be close to me.

♥ Where do you eat out most as a couple? Eat OUT??? What’s that? When we used to eat out it would be Thai or Indian, now it is take-away Thai or Indian.

♥ Who has the craziest ex? Neither of us. All our exes are pretty sane.

♥ Who has the worst temper? Well I get cranky more often than Nath, but if he gets angry WATCH OUT. Tho if he is angry with you, he will probably just ignore you.

♥ Who does the cooking? It is pretty equal, but Nath would cook more than me right now as I am on a diet.  

♥ Who is more social? Nath says me… I can talk to anyone.

♥ Who is the neat-freak? Both of us in very different ways.

♥ Who is the more stubborn? We try not to be, probably me.

♥ Who hogs the bed? Benjamin or Joshua.

♥ Who wakes up earlier? Nathan, always… unless I let him sleep in which averages about once a fortnight, an 8am sleep in. Whoowhoo!

♥ Where was your first date? Anise, a fabulous restaurant.

♥ Who has the bigger family? Me, I am the eldest of 5, plus a step bro and his wifey.

♥ Do you get flowers often? Not often, but sometimes… I get pretty much everything my heart desires {and more}. Nath spoils me!

♥ How do you spend the holidays? Usually we go somewhere, overseas or around Australia… We take turns with Christmas between our families and Mikaela’s dad.

♥ Who is more jealous? Equal. We're not really the jealous type.

♥ How long did it take to get serious? A few months before we were sure.

♥ Who eats more? Nath, but I would if I could!

♥ Who does/did the laundry? Nath does more than me… I always forget and when I do remember, he has beat me to it!

♥ Who’s better with the computer? Nath likes to work things out, I just want it done. I am only good when I am writing a technical document for it.

♥ Who drives when you are together? Mostly Nath, sometimes me.

I think I will make a regular monthly post about "US" to document our relationship a bit... kinda like the kids birthday anniversary posts, I'll do the same for us. 23rd is our Wedding date so that is when I'll do it.
