Centred is my word for 2012.
I first came across this word and the feeling that THIS IS THE WORD when I read "Crazy Sexy Diet" by Kris Carr, she asks on her jacket sleeve:
Do you know what it's like to be centered and grounded yet filled with an abundant supply of zippy energy...
I thought to myself, WOW, yes... that's it, that's my 2012 word. I'd like to be centred. Admittidly I have lots of zippy energy... but not the centred kind. It's more the too much caffine, or "we have to MOVE, we're going to be late" or the "I just need to get out and run/cycle {sweat}" kind.
I think last year I toyed with the idea of using Balance as my word for 2011, but it just didn't feel quite right. I ended up selecting Results* as my word for 2011.
The thing about balance is that I am not a balanced person... I think of balance like a see-saw - when you are giving energy to one aspect of your life... then other aspects are not receiving your attention... and that's okay with me. I accept that I can not give equal aspects of myself to all my passions all at once.
So that's why centred really struck me as the word I am seeking, that I require for 2012. It's an internal balance, a balance within... and that's what I was thinking of when balance came to mind, and why centred works so well.
I am always interchanging the spelling of this word: "centred" or "centered". Centred comes more naturally, so I'll stick with that. Not re-doing my art journal page tho!
My previous year's words are here:
* Results was a great word for 2011, and much of my results related to my health and fitness, and an art journal page to summarise my 2011 achievments is here.
Happy New Year and here's to a fabulous 2012.
